Susan Lamontagne

President and Creative Director

A veteran campaign and media strategist, Susan founded the Public Interest Media Group, Inc., in 1997 to help advocacy organizations and health care non-profits communicate more effectively. As the firm’s president and creative director, Susan has developed effective public awareness campaigns to improve health coverage, prevent HIV/AIDS, and promote emergency contraception, hand washing, flu vaccines, and organ donation. A former television producer and show host, Susan is a seasoned media trainer who has provided on-camera coaching and message training to numerous candidates for public office, organization executive directors, physicians, and activists.

Susan also works as a Senior Communications Executive for IQ Solutions - a 300-person health communications firm based in Rockville, MD where she leads the media outreach for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s health and medical scholars and researchers from across the country. Previously, Susan has served as Vice President for Media Relations at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the largest women’s health provider in the U.S., where she directed a successful campaign to preserve federal family planning funds and managed numerous crises. She was Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and chief spokesperson and communications director for his 1992 reelection campaign, and served briefly as Director of the New York City Press Office for New York Governor Mario Cuomo. She started her career working for C-SPAN.

Lawrence LaRose

Writer and New Media Specialist

A best-selling author and seasoned editor with extensive experience in traditional and digital media, Lawrence’s work has been featured in countless print, radio and television outlets. He has been interviewed on the Today Show, Oprah, and numerous other television and radio programs. His career has included stints as a Channel Programmer at America Online, Editorial Director and Vice-President of Business Development at Annotate.net, and columnist at DOMINO magazine. He has written extensively for the Web, including the internet sites of HarperCollins Publishers and CondeNast, Oxygen Media, Yahoo!, Barnes & Noble, and the Electronic Newstand. He began his career as an editor for Random House, where he also contributed to their magazine and digital endeavors. Lawrence provides pithy copy-writing, ghost writing for columns and opinion pieces, and new media strategies to expand the reach and success of campaigns PIMG develops.

Diane Hewett

Graphic Designer

With more than 20 years of experience in graphic design for clients that range from Fortune 500 companies to individual entrepreneurs, Diane provides creative solutions on deadline and within budget. She specializes in marketing materials, branding and collateral – ranging from logos and identities to brochures, annual reports, postcards, calendars, ads, website design, product packaging, and more. She directs DCH Graphics in Sag Harbor, NY and offers PIMG clients graphic design excellence.

Herbert Li


Herb creates websites that pack a punch and develops web applications that make sure the sites achieve our client's goals. For the Back Up Your Birth Control campaign, Herb worked with the client to customize a shopping cart that will best serve its members. He develops websites and web appliations with ASP.NET, CSS, Javascript, and MSSQL. When PIMG clients need website development, we team up with Herb to create compelling, functional sites that meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Nothing cookie cutter here!

Francine Fleischer


Francine is a nationally-renowned and award-winning photographer who captures images of people, places, and things in unique ways. She has contributed to several best-selling photography books, and has worked with industry greats including Annie Leibowitz. Her clients have included the Central Park Conservancy, Conde Nast, Random House, Ross School, Southampton Hospital and Bloomingdale’s and her photographs have appeared in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Parents Magazine, Vanity Fair, and on CNN. Rich Ficara

Videographer, Editor

Rich has worked in TV production for over 25 years. A former ABC News cameraman, he has traveled extensively to capture footage for ABC's Nightline, World News Tonight, Good Morning America and PBS' Frontline. Rich has shot and edited videos and PSAs for the Environmental Defense Fund, New York Organ Donor Network, Miramax (for Plum TV), Time Warner Cable, UJA Federation of New York, Stony Brook Southampton College (SUNY), Wings Over Haiti, and Bay Street Theatre. He has also directed TV programs for CNBC and has worked on numerous documentaries. View his reel here.
